SRINAGAR, Oct 14: Cueists Shahzada Singh, Akif Malik and Iqbal Bhat trounced their respective opponents and sailed into the next round of the ongoing 22nd Srinagar District Open Billiards and Snooker Championship held at Sterling Snooker Club, Raj Bagh, here today.
The first match of the day was played between Shahzada Singh and Mehraj Wani, in which Shahzada Singh emerged winner by straight 2-0 frames and the score remained 70-28 and 59-35.
In the second match, Akif Malik thrashed Yasir Ganie by straight 2-0 frames. The opening frame was lifted by Akif Malik by 58-32 and in the second frame, he again gave no room to Cueist Yasir Ganie to exhibit his skills and pocketed the frame by 63-42.
In the third and final match of the day, Iqbal Bhat registered 2-0 frames victory over Umer Gasi. The first frame was won by Iqbal Bhat by 71-58, while, the second frame was also claimed by Iqbal Bhat by 67-49.
