Cueists Furkan, Kunal, Ishuk show promise, grit to enter next stage

JAMMU, June 19: Cueists Furkan Wani, Kunal and Ishuk Chowdhary showed promise and grit to enter into the next stage of the Open J&K State Six Red Ball Prize Money Tournament, which commenced at Billiards Hall, MA Stadium, here today. The tournament is being organized by the J&K Billiards and Snooker Association.
The Tournament was inaugurated by President JKBSA Sanjeev Gupta in presence of Sidharth Sharma, Chairman, Vishal Abrol, General Secretary, Jaideep Manocha, Senior Vice President, Nikhil Kapahi, Sohail Khalid treasurer and other members of the Association including Sunil Jain, Lokesh Sharma, Ishuk Chowdhary and Gurjeev Singh.
In the first match, Cueist Furkan Wani defeated Cueist Vishal Manhas by straight 3-0 frames. In the first frame, Furkan Wani registered win over Vishal Manhas by 31-19 points, whereas in the second frame, Vishal Manhas could not prove his mettle and lost the frame to Furkan Wani by 55-26 points. Furkan Wani defeated Vishal Manhas again in the third frame and paved way to the next round of the tournament.
In the second match, Cueist Kunal smashed Cueist Sanand Sharma by three frames to zero. In the first frame, Kunal and Sanand made a good start, but finally Kunal registered win by 34-18 points, whereas in the second frame, Sanand sweated well to win the frame and equalize the game, but lost the frame by 34-07 points. In the third frame, Kunal registered win by 34-12 points over Sanand Sharma and sailed into the next stage of the tournament.
In the third match, Ishuk Chowdhary thrashed Nikhil Kapahi by 3-2 frames. In the third match, both the players fought hard to stay in the battle, but Ishuk with his skills won the last frame by potting the last ball i.e black to mark a won over Nikhil Kapahi. The game score was 32-13, 37-9, 11-43, 13-28 and 28-39.
Marker Rakesh Sharma acted as scorer of the matches.
