SRINAGAR, June 24: The Executive Committee meeting of the heritage Kashmir Golf Club was held Tuesday afternoon under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Mohammad Iqbal Khandey.
The Committee took various decisions for improving the overall functioning of the Club with directions from the Chief Secretary to take up the project for relaying of Fairways, Greens, Tees and improving the drainage of the Course at the earliest.
The Executive Committee besides approving enrollment of 30 new applicants as permanent members of the club also agreed in principle to the proposed enhancement of the salary of the regular employees of the club.
Reiterating his optimism on the various forward looking initiatives that have been taken to restore and improve not only the course area but also infrastructural facilities and financial health of the club, Chief Secretary said the club will over a period of time touch world class standard.
He sought cooperation of the members, and other associate departments including Tourism and Sports Council in this endeavor.
The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary, Planning and Development, B. R. Sharma, Secretary Tourism, Zaffar Ahmed, Director Tourism, Talat Parvez, members, Shabir Ahmed Bhat, Ali Muhammad Watali, S.R. S Madni, Bakshi M. Ashraf, Upenderjit Singh Bali and other officials.
