SRINAGAR, Dec 3: Volleyball championship was organized under the aegis of Youth Engagement Program by 79 Battalion, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), here today.
Teams from Sonwar, Lawaypora and Indiranagar participated in the championship. The competition was inaugurated by Kishore Kumar, Commandant 79 Bn.
The first match was played between the team of Sonwar and Indiranagar, in which Sonwar team scripted win by 2-0, while 2nd match was played between Lawaypora and Indiranagar (Srinagar) in which Lawaypora (Srinagar) team win by 2-0 and the final match was played between Sonwar and Lawaypora in which both the team played excellent sportsmanship and in the end Sonwar team registered win by 2-1 sets.
The chief guest motivated the local youth to join various sports programme, organised by the Battalion and said the CRPF has always been working for the welfare of the people, social harmony and development by organising various type of work under civic action programme,
At the end of the game, the winners and runner-ups were decorated with medals and trophies.
Vishwa Deep Singh Second-in Command, Abhigyan Kumar, DC, Suraj Subhash Pawar, AC, Jagdish B.C, AC and other officers of the 79 Bn were present during the event.
