Court restrains Sports Council from holding elections of Wrestling Association

JAMMU, May 27: In a suit filed by Wrestling Association of Reasi, the Court has restrained Sports Council from holding the elections of the recognized Jammu and Kashmir Wrestling Association on May 28, 2017.
In the suit filed by Wrestling Association of Reasi, an affiliate Unit of J&K Wrestling Association before Munsif Katra, it has been submitted that elections are, being conducted in clandestine manner, without issuing prior notice to the members as warranted in the Constitution of the Association.
The Munsif vide Order dated 26-05-2017 has restrained the defendants Choudhary Lal Singh, Ranjit Kalra and others from conducting the election of the approved J&K Wrestling Association.
It is pertinent to mention here, the parallel Association headed by Choudhary Lal Singh was restrained by 3rd Additional Munsiff Jammu from interfering in the affairs of J&K Wrestling Association, but the Council has thrown the Constitution and the Court directions into the winds.
The Sports Council earlier in a letter dated 25.-05-2017 had asked Ranjit Kalra, Member Sports Council (Vice Chairman District Sports Council Jammu) to observe the elections of J&K Wrestling Association under the supervision of Choudhary Lal Singh, Patron of the Association.
