JAMMU, Feb 26: An inter-college competition on ‘Low cost teaching aids’ was organized by NSS Unit of Chenab College of Education in the college premises today.
The students from 11 Colleges participated in the competition by displaying their teaching aids, prepared by themselves.
The idea of the competition was to create awareness and develop a sense of understanding among the students (would be teachers) to create teaching aids themselves out of waste material or spending a minimum amount.
R S Chib, chairman of Chenab Education Trust presided over the prize distribution function after taking a round of the models displayed by the students of different colleges.
Mr Chib appreciated the excellent efforts of the students in preparing the teaching aids and said that the teachers have a very constructive role in shaping the destiny of younger generation and should not underestimate them as compare to other profession.
Ajit Angral, Principal, Govt BEd College of Education and a chief guest of this occasion expressed a great satisfaction over the preparation of the models by the students. He said that the competitors have really taken pains in preparing these teaching aids and their sense of understanding of the students is of very high order.
The Khalsa College of Education topped the competition and bagged the 1st prize while MIER College of Education claimed third spot.
Kamal Deep Kour, Principal of Chenab College presented the vote of thanks.
