JAMMU, Dec 30:  Students of KC Public School pursuing Commerce stream of studies in class XI took a break-through initiative by organizing ‘Hiver Fest 2016’ on the school grounds to give practical shape to their studies in entrepreneurship as part of their course curriculum consisting of Business Studies, Accountancy and Economics.
The entire class was involved in planning and executing this path-breaking and first of its own kind project.
Emulating the role of start-up entrepreneurs, they decided to raise the capital for the enterprise through personal fund raising and by arranging sponsorship for the event. They also decided to sell entry-cum-lucky draw tickets as part of their capital raising campaign. It was a practical and hands-on experience for them about marginal efficiency of capital and expected returns from their investment.
The Fest was set up keeping in mind the demand of the prospective consumers in the shape of all other students of KCPS. With a view to maximizing sales, the prices of commodities and services on sale such as food and games were fixed with minimum profit margins.
A rock band on stage and a juke-box on demand gave the event a festive appearance.
Prof. BC Sharma, HoD of Management Studies, Jammu University, graced the event as chief guest and gave away lucky draw awards and gift coupons from sponsors to the winners.
The Directors of KB Group of Institutions were also present to witness the event they had sponsored.
Raju Chowdhary, Chairman of KC Educational Society presented vote of thanks.
