T20 Christmas Celebrations Cup

DODA, Dec 19: Combined XI Doda and New Sairaj Doda registered wins against Friends XI Ghat and AKN Warriors Gandoh in the ongoing T20 Christmas Celebrations Cup, being organized by Doda Police Headquarters in collaboration with St. George Convent School Batote, here today.
In the first match, Combined XI Doda defeated Friends Eleven Ghat by 5 wickets. Batting first, Friends Ghat scored 118 runs by losing all wickets, wherein Imran made 20 runs, Neeraj scored 19 and Pardeep contributed 16 runs. From the bowling side, Vishal took 3 wickets, Nasir, Farooq and Babar Ali grabbed 2 wickets each.
In reply Combined XI chased the target in 14.1 overs by losing 5 wickets and registered 5 wickets win. Abrar scored 36 runs, while Kamal and Dowd contributed 15 and 14 runs to the total respectively. From the bowling side, Kashib took 3 wickets, Asmat and Majit took 1 wicket each. Vishal was declared as man of the match for his outstanding bowling.
In another match, New Sairaj Doda got better of AKN Warriors Gandoh by 145 runs.
Batting first, New Sairaj Doda scored 208 runs in 15 overs in which Irshad made highest 88 runs, while Gazi scored 56 runs and Salman contributed 27 runs. From the bowling side, Mubarak Rather and Babar Hussain took 2 wickets each.
In reply, AKN Warriors Gandoh could not chase the target and bundled out at 63 and lost the match by 145 runs. Sajjad and Yawar were the batsmen who crossed double digit scores. From the bowling side, Babar took 3 wickets, while Imtiaz, Rehan and Salman got 2 wickets each. Irshad was declared as man of the match for his splendid batting.
The matches were officiated by Sourav Katoch, Imran Kalal, Sagar Ittu, Yasir Dar, Nousher Bhat, Ajay Katoch and Babar Lone.
The tournament is being organized under the guidance of Dr Sunil Gupta, DIG DKR and under the supervision of Abdul Qayoom SSP Doda and Rajesh Gill, former Ranji player with the tournament slogan ‘Be Healthy- Stay away from Drugs.
Green Shaheen Doda will lock horns with United Doda, while New Sairaj Doda to face Masud Bhaderwah in the quarterfinal matches, tomorrow.
