Coaching Centre to take on APS Rakh Muthi in summit clash

JAMMU, Jan 1: Scripting resounding victories over their rivals in the semifinals, Army Public School (APS) Rakh Muthi and Coaching Centre have made it to the finals of the ongoing Jammu District Women’s Hockey Tournament, being organized by Hockey J&K in collaboration with J&K State Sports Council, under the auspices of Hockey India at KK Hakhu Astroturf Stadium, here today.
Now, the two sides will lock horns with each other on January 3, 2013 at the same venue.
Earlier, in the first semifinal, APS Rakh Muthi defeated GCW Parade by two goals to nil (2-0) via tie-breaker. The match ended in a goalless draw in the stipulated time, while in tie-breaker Priya Rajput and Taniya Chib succeeded in scoring goals to help their side win by (2-0).
In another semifinal match, Coaching Centre trounced SOS Gole Gujral by a solitary goal to seal berth in the finals. Rishu Sharma was the goal scorer for Coaching Centre.
The tournament is being organized under the supervision of Rumal Singh, general secretary, Hockey J&K and GS Bakshi, organizing secretary of the event.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Jagjit Kour, Desh Bandhu, Gurmeet Kour and MS Reen, while the matches were officiated by JS Reen, Rohit Sharma, Jagjeet Singh and Digvijay Singh.
