JAMMU, Dec 29: Coaching Centre Jammu defeated Army Public School (APS) Miran Sahib in a close contest by two goals to one (2-1) in the ongoing Jammu District Hockey Tournament, being organized by Hockey J&K in collaboration with J&K State Sports Council, under the auspices of Hockey India at KK Hakhu Astroturf Stadium, here.
Earlier, both the teams played defensively for first half an hour and it was Gargi Chaurasia of Coaching Centre who pelted a superb goal in 35th minute of the match to give her side a much needed lead. However, Simran of APS Akhnoor scored a splendid goal in 45th minute to equalize the score. Then, Neetu of Coaching Centre managed to score another goal in 55th minute to make it (2-1) in favour of her team. Finally, Coaching Centre won the match by (2-1).
In another match, APS Rukh Mutti got walkover against SAI XI, which did not turn up.
The match was officiated by JS Reen, Amarjeet Singh and Jagjit Singh, while the tournament is being held under the overall supervision of Rumal Singh, general secretary, Hockey J&K and GS Bakshi, organizing secretary.
