SAMBA, Jan 17: Chichi Mata Cricket Club defeated Thalora Mandi Cricket Club by 23 runs and lifted the title trophy of the Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament, here today.
Batting first after winning the toss, Chichi Mata Club scored 52 runs in 8 overs. In the second inning, Thalora Club scored only 29 runs by losing all the wickets.
Sahil was awarded as Man of the Match for performing well in the final match and taking three wickets.
A total of 16 teams participated in the tournament.
The tournament was organized by the Samba Tennis Ball Cricket Association.
On the valedictory function, SHO Police Station Samba Inspector Deepak Jasrotia was the chief guest, who presented prizes to the players of winning and runner-up teams.
Addressing the players, SHO Samba said that such tournaments should be organized continuously to keep youth physically and mentally fit.
He asked the youth to participate in sports activities for their overall development and also urged them to stay away from drugs.
