JAMMU, Aug 4: Commonwealth gold medalist and chess player of the State, young Meenal Gupta has become highest FIDE rated player of J&K State leaving behind all the players including men also.
After a brilliant show by the 15-year old Jammu girl at Grandmaster level A category chess events in Barcelona, Spain her International rating is 2031 which is higher than all the senior men of Jammu and Kashmir.
Now she will be participating in World Youth at Montevideo Uruguay.
She was highly thankful to Minister for Finance Dr Haseeb Drabu and CA RK Gupta for their great support and encouragement.
She was also all praise for J&K Chess Association in shaping her career.
