Chenab Valley Youth Festival ‘Sangam’ commences

DODA, Sept 5: Five days long Chenab Valley Youth Festival “Sangam”, being organized by Bhaderwah Campus of University of Jammu in collaboration with Indian Army stationed at Bhadarwah commenced at Bhadarwah.
The festival with the tag line ‘Lets Build Our Nation’ was inaugurated by chief guest GOC Delta Force Major General Rajiv Nanda along with guest of honour DDC Doda Simrandeep Singh and special invitee Phuntsog Ladakhi, Yoga Instructor of International fame.
Commander 4 Sector RR Narinder Jit Singh, Prof. GM Bhat Rector Bhadarwah Campus, CO RR, SP Operation Doda Ravinder Pal Singh, MLC Naresh Kumar Gupta, Additional Rajinder Singh, a large number of civil and military dignitaries, SDPO Bhaderwah, officials of civil administration, Police Department, CRPF, citizens of Bhaderwah, Principals and Teachers Of colleges and schools were also present on the occasion.
The Mega event witnessed participation of more than 1100 students and teachers from 32 colleges from Jammu, Kashmir and Leh regions of the State.
During opening ceremony, students showcased their skills in dancing and singing.
A total of 35 different competitions viz Debate, Sketching, Clay Modeling, Photography, Athletics, Chess, Badminton for girls, Quiz, Painting, Marathon, Volleyball, Kabaddi and Cricket will be conducted during the festival. Several educational and motivational lectures will be also delivered by various dignitaries including Rector Bhaderwah Campus University of Jammu.
