Chareel Banihal lifts Police Martyrs’ Memorial Cricket Cup

RAMBAN, May 28: The final match of Police Martyrs’ Memorial Cricket Tournament was today held at DPL ground Ramban in which Chareel Cricket Club Banihal defeated Cricket Batote by 25 runs.
In its innings, Chareel Banihal scored 111 runs in the 20 over match. In reply Cricket Batote could score 87 runs for all wickets.
IGP Jammu Rajesh Kumar Yadav was the chief guest while DDC Ramban M H Malik, DIG Kishtwar, Doda, Ramban Range, Commandant 12 RR, SP Ramban and Commandant IRP 9th Batallion were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, IGP Jammu said that the police force should co-operate at all levels with the civic related activities in the district.
He presented winners trophy and a cash prize of Rs 50,000 to the winning team, besides giving medals to all the players who participated in the tournament.
Later, all the Martyr’s families were honoured with gift packs. Besides, four schools of the district were given sports kits.
It was revealed on the occasion that the Police Department would soon inaugurate a club at Batote.
