*Bengaluru FC wins opening tie

KATRA, Mar 27: Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB), Simrandeep Singh declared the 2nd Division Football League open in an impressive, colourful and well attended function at Shrine Board’s Sports Complex, here today.
The participating teams include Bengaluru FC Reserves, Hindustan FC New Delhi, FC Goa Reserves, ARA FC Ahmedabad and Lone Star Kashmir FC.
In the inaugural tie, Bengaluru FC defeated Lone Star FC by three goals to one (3-1). The 1st goal was scored by Advit Shinde in 7th minute, while the 2nd goal was scored by Edmund in 20th minute and the 3rd goal was netted via penalty by Myron Mendes (C).
The lone goal from the host team was scored by Basit Ahmed Bhat in 65th minute.
Earlier, Ashok Kumar, Director Sports SMVDSB presented welcome address and gave detail of the league matches and the activities being organised by SMVDSB for promotion of sports and games in the area.
The vote of thanks was presented by Zameer Thakur, President Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA).
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Jitendra Kumar Gupta, Commandant CRPF 6th Battalion; Dr Jagdish Mehra, Deputy CEO SMVDSB; Naresh Singh, Additional SP Katra; Sheikh Mehmood, President Jammu Wing of JKFA; Nazir Ahmed Bhat, Chairman Referees Board JKFA and Romesh Chander.
