KARGIL, Jan 2: Chief Executive Councillor (CEC) LAHDC Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan inaugurated First Indoor Ice Hockey Rink here.
Feroz Ahmad Khan appreciated the initiative of Downhills Kargil for starting the Indoor Ice Hockey Rink and to give opportunity to the toddlers.
Feroz Ahmad Khan further said that youths in Ladakh has an ample opportunity to prove their mettle at the National and International levels. After Ladakh became Union Territory, LAHDC Kargil is focusing on increasing sports infrastructure in the district, he added.
On the occasion, DYSSO Kargil Mohammad Hussain Rehnuma, Anayat Ali Shotopa, Secretary Ladakh Taekwondo Association, sports activist and Ajaz Hussain Munshi were also present.
Imtiyaz Ali Khan of Downshill Kargil said that the focus of opening the First Indoor Ice Hockey Rink is to give basic training to the small children and to promote Winter Sports in the district.
He further added that Downshill Kargil will organize Adventure Sports related activities in the next season.
More than 15 children are participating in the basic ice hockey course going on at Indoor Ice Hockey Rink.
