JAMMU, Oct 15: CBSE Cluster XVIII Kho-Kho Tournament 2019 got underway at MV International School here today.
I D Soni, State Commiss-ioner, J&K Bharat Scouts & Guides, was the chief guest on the opening ceremony, while Sohail Kazmi, Senior Journalist; Ravi Tickoo, President Speedball Association, J&K; Kiran Jyoti, District Sports Officer, Samba; Ashok Kumar, Zonal Physical Officer (ZPO), Vijaypur and Sham Pal Slathia, DOC, J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides, Samba graced the occasion as the special guests.
BS Tirthi, National Coach Kho-Kho & Kabaddi is the CBSE Observer for the matches, while Chairman of school Hira Lal Abrol, Director Gourav Abrol and Principal Kundan Lal Dogra were also present on the occasion.
Over 200 players (boys and girls) drawn from CBSE schools of Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir & Haryana are taking part in this ongoing event in U-17 & U-19 categories.
Prior to the formal inauguration of the meet, Harsh Vikram, sports captain of the host school administered oath.
Principal of the host school thanked the CBSE authorities for choosing the school to conduct the mega event. He motivated athletes to showcase their talent and comradeship. S
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest appreciated the school management for organizing the event in perfect co-ordination.
