JAMMU, Apr 29: BSF School Jammu organised CBSE Jammu Sahodaya Interschool Basketball tournament to mark the celebration of 50 years of Border Security Force and to honour its distinguished services to the Nation, today.
Dr S S Khokhar extended formal welcome to Rakesh Sharma, IG BSF Jammu FTR and thanked him for sparing his valuable time and gracing the occasion. He also welcomed all the distinguished officers of the Force and the Principals of Jammu CBSE Sahodaya Schools.
The chief guest Rakesh Sharma, IG BSF Jammu FTR was formally introduced with the members of organising committee and with the players of various participating teams. He declared the meet open and applauded the laudable efforts of Dr S S Khokhar and his team for fostering the spirit of healthy competition among the children by organising such tournaments and it will definitely boost their morale.
Rakesh Sharma, IG BSF Jammu FTR, the Chairman of the school was the chief guest on the occasion and Pratibha Sharma president BWWA Jammu presided over the function as the guest of honour. Ram Awtar DIG/PSO Jammu FTR was the distinguished guest.
S M Mehta DIG Comn / Prov, B S Kasana DIG BSF Jammu Sector, Dharmendra Pareek DIG Jammu Ftr were the special guests on the occasion. Trilok Singh Bisht, Principal Jodhamal Public School and president Sahodaya Jammu also graced the occasion as a special guest.
Vijay Puri, Principal K C Gurukul, Colonel K D Koushal, Principal Sainik School Nagrota, S K Singh, Principal J K Public School were among the Principals of various Jammu CBSE Sahodaya Schools.
13 prestigious CBSE schools of Jammu participated in the tournament. Air Force School beat Banyan International school by 23 – 17, Jodhamal Public School beat K C Gurukul by 27 – 0 whereas APS Nagrota won by 23 – 4, BSF School Jammu beat Jodhamal by 20 – 11, APS Akhnoor beat G D Goenka by 37 – 17. Airforce school beats A P S Domana by 25 – 7, K C Public School beats APS Nagrota by 23 – 11 whereas M H A C Nagbani beats APS Akhnoor by 29 – 10.
