JAMMU, Feb 9: Outplaying their rivals convincingly in the semifinals, BSF and Punjab Police have sealed berth in the finals and will take on each other in the summit clash of the ongoing 66th BN Mullik Memorial All India Police Championship, at University ground, here tomorrow.
The Championship is being organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Police Department at various venues here.
In the first semifinal played at Jammu University ground, BSF got the better of SSB by a solitary goal (1-0).
The goal was scored by Gurpreet Kumar in 88th minute of the match.
Rajesh Kumar, Director SSG was the chief guest in this match.
In another semifinal played at the same venue, Punjab Police defeated Mizoram Police by two goals to nil (2-0). The 1st goal was scored by Paramjeet Singh in 13th minute, while the 2nd goal was scored by Sarabjeet Singh in 17th minute.
SA Watali, IGP Armed / IR Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion and interacted with the players of both the teams.
Meanwhile, a Bara Khana (Dinner) was hosted for the players and officials of 37 teams, who participated in the 66th B N Mullik All India Police Football Tournament, by Director General of Police Dr S P Vaid at Gulshan Ground here this evening.
Stalls presenting different traditional dishes of respective regions were put up by different teams. DGP visited the stalls and interacted with the players and staff members. He also distributed gifts among the participants.
A colourful cultural programme was organised on the occasion during which various items were presented by artists of cultural team of J&K Police.
A galaxy of senior police officers and sports persons were present at the dinner.
