Broom shines in Otago victory

Jaipur, Sept 25:
NT Broom (not out 117) and RN ten Doeschate (66) and their 128 runs partnership for the fourth wickets helped Otago Volts thrash Perth Scorchers by 62 runs at the Champions League T20 Championship at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium here late this evening.
Perth Scorchers won the toss and invited to Otago Volts into bat first, Otago made 242 runs for 4 wickets. It was the highest team score of 242 runs on this ground. Otago batsmen today played brilliant show hitting 19 fours and 16 sixes in the innings.
In reply, Perth Scorchers could manage the score of 180 runs for 6 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Cartwright unbeaten knock of 69 (54, 7×4, 2×6) was the top scorer of Perth. Apart from him, Voges hits brilliant 36 off 27 with five fours. Triffitt was the last man who was out by McCullum through Broom for 25 off 17 with two sixes and one four.
IG Butler was the main destroyer scalping three wickets for 47 runs while Nathan McCullum and McMillan took one wicket each.
