JAMMU, Nov 29: With the aim of developing a taste for good books in students and for motivating them to use them extensively a book exhibition was organized by the library committee of MIER College of Education. The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr. Arun K. Gupta, Chairman MIER. Speaking on the occasion, he emphasized that books are the most treasured possession of a teacher and the teacher trainees must inculcate the habit of reading expansively.
About 5000 books were exhibited on various subjects like education, special education, Research, women education, human rights etc. Some general books and books written by foreign authors were also displayed. Leading publishing houses like M/s RadhaKrishanAnand and Publications, M/s Vinod Publications etc. exhibited the books in the college.
Other distinguished guests present on the occasion were Dr. Renu Gupta, Director MIER, Dr. Adit Gupta, Joint Director MIER and HODs of various wings of MIER. All the faculty members and the students took a round of the exhibition. They showed keen interest in the books displayed and purchased different books of their interest and requirement.
The exhibition was organized under the supervision of Chief Librarian Mr. Suneel Bhat and Ms.ChitranjanJamwal, Librarian P.G. Deptt.
