BOMIS lifts girl’s title, APS Kaluchak clinches boy’s title

JAMMU, Dec 3: Birla Open Minds International School (BOMIS) lifted the title in girl’s category, while APS Kaluchak clinched the boys’ category title of the Inter school Football tournament, hosted by BOMIS, here today.
The tournament was organised by BOMIS in collaboration with Pegasus Hero Football Club, wherein Ranjeet Kalra-Member J&K Sports Council and Member Governing Council (Sports) Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board was the chief guest of the event.
Principal Aparana Kohli welcomed the chief guest and other dignitaries and talked about the importance of sports in a child’s life.
The final match in girls category was played between BOMIS Jammu and GD Goenka wherein former emerged winner and lifted the girls title, while in boys category, the final match was played between BOMIS Jammu and APS Kaluchak wherein APS Kaluchak scripted win over BOMIS in a nail-biting contest.
The Principal of the host School congratulated both girls and boys teams and their coaches for their hard work, dedication, team spirit and passion.
In boys category the best goal keeper of the tournament award went to Aftab from BOMIS, while best striker award was clinched by Akbar Kachlo from BOMIS and the best emerging player award went to Hassan of IDPS School.
The chief guest lauded the efforts of the players and felicitated the winners. He also encouraged the students with his motivational words and reiterated that sports events are meant to showcase the collective talent of the youth rather than only recognizing winners.
