srinagar, Sept 29: Convener of BJP Sports Cell J&K, Sunil Sharma called upon the Union Minister of Sports, Youth Affairs and Minister of Information & Broadcasting, Anurag Thakur at Hari Niwas Srinagar, here today.
He was accompanied by former MLC and J&K UT secretary, Vikram Randhawa and party workers. During the meeting, Sunil Sharma briefed the Minister about the activities of the Cell in J&KUTand formation of sports teams in all districts.
The Union Minister informed that the Prime Minister has already released a package of Rs 200 crores for Jammu & Kashmir for betterment of sports infrastructure, improving standards and skills of athletes and achieving excellence at national and international level. The Minister also emphasized on the need to strengthen the coherent efforts for identifying young talent and preparing them for national level sports.
Co-convener Gh Mohd Bhat, executive members Parshotam Sharma & Raman Chadha were also present during the meeting.
