Bhanu’s ton overpowers Faizan’s 95 as Royal Warrior scripts 5-wkt win

JAMMU, May 22: Bhanu’s magnificent century overwhelmed Faizan’s classic 95 runs as Royal Warrior Cricket Club defeated Emerging XI by 5 wickets in the ongoing District Level Cricket Tournament, being organised by Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here.
The tournament is being held under the patronage of Justice CK Prasad, Administrator JKCA; Chairmanship of Syed Ashiq Hussain Bukhari, CEO JKCA and uner the overall supervision of Jang Bahadur Singh Jamwal, Member Judicial State Human Rights Commission and Member JKCA.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Emerging Club scored a good total of 215 runs by losing 8 wickets. Faizan top scored with splendid 95runs, while Kewal contributed 52 runs to the total. Ritik also chipped in with 13 runs. From Royal Warrior Cricket Club, Karanveer Singh took 2 wickets, while Bhanu, Akhil and Rahul claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, Royal Warrior Cricket Club rode on Bhanu’s 101 runs and chased the target by losing 5 wickets, thus won the match by 5 wickets. Sanju (41), Achintya (31) and Love (16) were the other contributors. From Emerging Cricket Club, Ritik took 3 wickets, while Nitin and Akash claimed 1 wicket each.
Bhanu was adjudged as the man of the match for his brilliant batting display.
The match was officiated by Dayal Singh and Vinod as umpires, while Saleem-ur-Rehman was the scorer.
Meanwhile, at Police Lines Kathua, Friends XI Marheen defeated Forest XI Kathua by 3 wickets. Batting first, Forest XI Kathua scored a modest total of 92 runs in 23.4 overs. Ravi (19) and Neeraj Sangra (15) were the main scorers. Harminder was pick of the bowlers, who took 5 important wickets, while Shubham bagged 2 wickets.
In reply, Friends XI Marheen chased the target in 13 overs by losing 7 wickets in the process. Vishal (25) and Sanjay unbeaten (12) were the main contributors. From Forest XI, Ravi and Vishal took 3 wickets each. Harminder Singh was adjudged as the man of the match for his superb bowling display.
The match was officiated by Arun Singh, Jatinder Singh and Shiv Dutt.
