Barrian, Chandial Clubs won matches on inaugural day

UDHAMPUR, Nov 10: Barrian and Chandial Cricket Clubs won their respective matches on the inaugural day of the Street Cricket Tournament, being organized by Social Awareness Society of Udhampur, here.
In the inaugural, Barrian Cricket Club registered win over Dogra Cricket Club by 2 wickets. The Man of the Match was awarded to Sumit.
In the second match, Chandial Cricket Club registered win over Raman Cricket Club by 55 runs. The Man of the Match was awarded to Arjun.
Earlier, during the inaugural ceremony, Gandharb Singh, Ex-Tehsildar was the chief guest, who inaugurated the Tournament and also interacted with the players.
A total of 26 teams are participating in this tournament. The winner team of the tournament will be awarded with cash prize of Rs 31,000.
The main motto or organizing the tournament is to make youth aware against drug menace. The theme of the tournament is “Say No To Drugs Play Sports”.
The members of the society present on the occasion were Dr Balvinder Singh, Surinder Singh Balloria, Sawarn Singh, Ashok Kumar, Vishal Verma, Vikas Thappa, Vishal Thappa, Anil Manhas, Balraj, Amit Dogra and Raju.
