Baroda drubs J&K by 4 wkts

JAMMU, Oct 20: Baroda defeated Jammu and Kashmir by 4 wickets in the ongoing Vinoo Mankad Under-19 Boys Cricket Tournament at Judges Field, Guwahati, Assam.
This was J&K’s 4th loss in six matches played so far in the Tournament, with a consolation win against Bihar and a washout against Kerala, where the match was abandoned due to rain lashing the ground when Kerala were 49 for no loss in 10.2 overs.
Earlier, in today’s match, batting first, J&K bundled out for a paltry 131 runs in 43 overs. Musaif top scored with 51 runs, while Yawer Hassan contributed 45 runs to the total. From Baroda, Archan Kothari, Ashutosh Das and Parikshit Patidar took 2 wickets each.
In reply, Baroda chased the target easily in 35.2 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process, thus won the match by 4 wickets. Mahesh Pithiya top scored with 41 runs, while Atharav Karulkar and Dhairya Pandey contributed 25 and 21 runs to the total respectively. From J&K, Deepak Beer Singh and Kawal Preet Singh took 2 wickets each.
Jammu and Kashmir will meet Odisha, the weakest team in the group in its last match of the Tournament on October 23, 2019.
