Bani to lock horns with Kathua in Kabaddi final today

KATHUA, May 12: Inter Zonal Tournament of Kabaddi, Volleyball and Kho-Kho for girls organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports commenced today at sports stadium here.
The tournament was declared open by retd SSP Sardar Khan in presence of Chan Singh, ex-PET, Yog Raj, ex-PET, Mohinder Kumar, ex-PET and officials of DYSS.
In Volleyball Under 14 final, Zone Hiranagar crushed Zone Marheen by straight 2-0 sets, whereas in under 17 final, Zone Bani registered win over Zone Lakhanpur by 2-1 sets.
In Under 17 kabaddi, Zone Bani will lock horns with Zone Kathua in the final tomorrow. Earlier, zone Bani emerged winner by crushing zone Lakhanpur by 22 points in the first semis, whereas in second semis, Kathua zone smashed Zone Sallan by 5 points.
In Under 14 semis, Zone Bani crushed Zone Marheen by 10 points.
In Under 14 Kho-Kho semis, Zone Hiranagar defeated Zone Bhaddu by solitary point, whereas in Under 17 semis, Zone Sallan smashed Zone Billawar by 8 points.
