JAMMU, Apr 23: Padamshree Balwant Thakur, Regional Director of Indian Council for Cultural Relations, J&K, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India inaugurated ‘Funk It Up’- a Multi Arts Training Studio and Fitness Centre at Channi Himmat, here today.
Conceptualized and devised by famous Choreographer and dance trainer Sukhwinder Singh Jaral, who is a disciple of World acclaimed dance trainer Shiamak Davar, this studio will offer immense opportunities of learning, fitness and self exploration.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest Balwant Thakur who himself is a globally exposed art personality stressed on the need of opening of more such spaces offering unique opportunities shaping and grooming one’s personality and desired people to encourage such ventures aimed at shaping physical and intellectual health of the masses. He complimented Sukhwinder Singh Jaral for taking this rare initiative. “Generally professionally trained boys and girls from Jammu rush to Mumbai to establish their career in the tinsel town but Sukhwinder Singh Jaral’s coming home and offering training opportunities to local talents should be appreciated and lauded by one and all” Balwant Thakur added.
The ‘Funk It Up’-Dance and Fitness Studio, 25- Mohalla Chadakan, near hotel Ritz, Channi Himmat will offer training in varied dance forms like Ballet, Urban contemporary, Urban HipHop, JAAZ Funk, Bollywood JAAZ, Bhangara, Salsa, Jibe, Lyrical Hip Hop, B-Boying, Yoga, Zumba, Dance-cum-fitness, in addition to art & Craft Persona Power under professionally trained faculty from Mumbai.
Prominent among those who attended the inaugural of the Studio included Pawan Singh, Sohan Singh Bloria and Raj Kumar.
