SAMBA, Sept 18: A badminton tournament was organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council in collaboration with local youth at Indoor Stadium, here today.
About 29 teams including 58 players are participating in the event. The event was declared open by International Wushu player Rajinder Singh and former National Hockey Player Suman Raj Singh and appealed to the players to display good sportsmanship during the competitions.
Ajatshatru Singh was the organiser of the event and said that since the Indoor Hall has been built by the Government at Samba, the youth of the area have been taking benefit of the indoor sports activities.
Today 35 matches were played wherein four teams have been selected for the semi-finals matches, which will be held tomorrow.
