CHANDIGARH, Oct 19: Medium pace bowler Azhar Amin Wani took 9 wickets in the match, while skipper Udhay Pratap scored magnificent 90 runs in the second innings as the 3-day match of Vijay Merchant Under-16 Cricket Tournament between Jammu and Kashmir and Chandigarh ended in a draw at Cricket Stadium, Sector-16, here.
Batting first, J&K scored 167 runs in the first innings. Akshit Gandral top scored with 48 runs while Achintya Khajuria contributed 23 runs to the total. From Chandigarh, Pratham Sodhi took 4 wickets, while Ansh Khosla claimed 3 wickets.
Chandigarh, in their first innings bundled out for 110 runs in 56.2 over, thus J&K got a vital first innings lead of 57 runs. Rajveer Singh and Paras Amarjit contributed 22 and 21 runs to the total respectively. From Jammu and Kashmir, Azhar Amin Wani was the pick of the bowlers, who took 5 important wickets by conceding 40 runs in 18.2 overs, while Mohd Amin Aman claimed 2 wickets.
J&K in their second essay scored 147 runs to set a target of 205 runs for Chandigarh. Udhay Pratap Singh scored brilliant 90 runs off 140 balls, with 14 fours, while Zayd Agha contributed 19 runs to the total. Paras Amarjit took 4 wickets, while Ansh Khosla bagged 3 wickets.
While chasing a target of 205 runs, Chandigarh were 157/7 at stumps on the final day today. Ansh Khosla remained unbeaten on 40 while Paras Amarjit contributed 32 runs to the total. From J&K, Azhar Amin Wani was again the pick of the bowlers who took 4 wickets, while Ranjot Singh bagged 3 wickets.
