Hyderabad, Aug 5: The pair of Kaushal Kumar Yadav/Gireesh M from the host team was in a position of comfort on the first day of the 5th Inland National Hobie 16 Sailing Championship at Hussain Sagar Lake here today.
As heavy downpour delayed the start, only four races could be held.
The event, which is being conducted by Artillery Water Sports Association (AWSA), was inaugurated late yesterday evening by Rahul Bojja, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh.
The AWSA pair had a good day in office while notching up wins in the second and third races and finishing second in the first race.
Seasoned campaigners, K Yakobu/Rajeev Kumar, also from AWSA, finished third in all the four races.
The team of Army Yachting Node, Mumbai, Sandeep Jain and Chandra Shekar won the first race while Imolemnok and S S Yadav from INWTC, also from Mumbai won the fourth race. Results-Race-1: 1.
