JAMMU, Nov 18: Sailing on a magnificent century by opener Rohit (107 runs off 67 balls), the Aditi Welfare India Cricket Club (AWICC) outclassed Media-XI Cricket Club Jammu by 25 runs in an exhibition match of Ball Buster Cricket Championship T-20 tournament being held at Parade Cricket Ground here.
Earlier, AWICC won the toss and opted to bat first and posted a decent 174 runs target in the stipulated 20 overs with opener Rohit crafting their innings with a sublime century laced with 13 fours and a six. Anoop (16) and Rajveer (11) were the other contributors.
For Media-XI, Yash Khajuria took 3 wickets by conceding 34 runs while Rahul Khatri scalped 2 wickets for 32 runs and Vivek Suri claimed 1 wicket.
Chasing mammoth 175 runs, Media-XI led by Mir Imran had a destructive start as they lost first 3 wickets with just 9 runs on the board within 3 overs. As wickets continued to fall, Sunil Bali 28 runs off 22 balls could not capitalize a good start yet remained the highest scorer for his side, while Ranjeet Singh (20 off 12 balls) and Rahul Khatri scored (19 off 13 balls) remained the other major scorers.
Such was the pressure of the game that at one point Media-XI were in need of 35 runs from 24 balls with one wicket in hand but they could not held their nerves and the whole team was bowled out on 149 runs in 17.5 overs.
For AWICC, Abhishek took 3 wickets by conceding 20 runs and remained the pick of the bowlers, whereas Rajveer and Lucky shared 2 wickets each. Rohit was declared as man of the match for his brilliant knock of 107 runs.
