Awareness prog, quiz, painting competitions organized on ‘Solid Waster Management’

JAMMU, May 4: Awareness programme was organized by Jammu Municipal Corporation on the topic ‘Solid Waste Management’ in collaboration with Government Mixed Higher Secondary School, Lower Roop Nagar Muthi.
Daizy Rani Koul, Incharge Principal Government Mixed Higher Secondary School, Lower Roop Nagar Muthi presided over the function and welcomed the guests.
Dr Zaffar delivered lecture on Solid Waste Management and very carefully taught the students regarding the organic and inorganic material generated in home.
Master Zorawar Singh also delivered lecture and gave practical demonstration in the school to prepare compost from the organic waste of the house.
The Programme coordinator Ramesh Kumar Bhat, Senior Headmaster and Pinul Kaul Programme Coordinator arranged the sitting of the students as well as outsiders to attend the programme.
In the end, Principal of the School Daizy Rani Koul presented vote of thanks. Ved Pal Sharma, Ashwani Sharma and others supported the JMC team with all essential required for demonstration on Solid Waste Management.
Later, a quiz and painting competitions were organized on the topic Solid Waste Management by JMC in collaboration with Government Girls Higher Secondary Shchool, Mubarak Mandi.
Choudhary Razia presided over the function and welcomed the guests. 24 students were divided in 6 groups with 4 students in each team.
Parmeeta Kapoor Lecturer Political Science acted as quiz competition master where as Bindiya Balwal acted as score master.
In Quiz Competition, Team E comprising of Mehak, Himani, Tanveer and Akriti emerged winner, whereas Team A comprising Ifra Manzoor, Laxmi, Suhani and Manya got second position and Team F comprising of Kashish, Deepanti, Muskan and Sharuti bagged third position.
In Painting Competition, Chahat and Urvashi bagged first prize, Sonali Mehra and Tanisha Jain secured second prize and Tejas Wani and Lehar Dogra clinched third prize.
