JAMMU, Feb 17: Avantika (A group of contemporary artist and intellectual) organized a debate-cum-folk dance competition at Dewan Badri Nath Vidya Mandir, Mubarak Mandi Panjthirthi Jammu on the occasion of Avantika Priyadarshini Award-2014 here today.
The topic of the debate was “Women Protection and their empowerment”. Students from various reputed institutes like DBN Vidya Mandir, Navyug Hr. Sec. School, Paramount Convent School, May Fair Hr. Sec. School, DAV School, Jagriti Mission Hr. Sec School, New Era Public School, JK Public School, Govt. Girls Hr. Sec. School Mubarak Mandi and Shastri Nagar participated.
Commissioner JMC Kiran Wattal was the chief guest.
Dr. Anand Aggarwal, National Director, Avantika, ID Soni, Commissioner Bharat Scout and Guide, Suresh Sharma, Director DBN Vidya Mandir, M. L. Abrol (President Avantika), Hardev Jamwal, Commissioner Avantika, M. M. Joshi, Renuka Aimia, Prabha Jain, Preetika Jamwal, Isha Manhas, Rameshwar Mengi, Abhay Basur, Satish Sharma, President Akhnoor, Indu Puri, Vipan Sharma were the other distinguished personalities present in the function.
On the occasion, the principals of the school were awarded “Avantika Priyadarshini Award-2014” by Avantika for their outstanding contribution in national building, peace and in the field of Education.
