UDHAMPUR, Nov 30: District Athletic Meet, organised by the District Association for boys and girls, commenced at Subash Stadium, here today.
The meet which was declared open by District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO), Swarn Singh wherein nearly 173 boys and girls are taking part is being organised under the aegis of J&K Amateur Athletic Association in collaboration with J&K Sports Council.
Sunil Sharma, president of District body welcomed all the dignitaries and participants, while Amit Sharma presided over the event.
In under-20 shot put girls, Arushi Sharma, Vanshika and Simran secured top three places respectively, while in boys category, Kamal Preet Singh, Abdul Razak and Vishal Verma clinched top three positions respectively.
In under-14 boy’s long jump, Aman Yadav, Vishav Pratap Singh and Adwaith won first three positions respectively, while in girls section, Shivali Thakur, Vaishanvi Priyasi and Rohini won 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.
In under-16 boy’s long jump, Sanironsa, Rohit Singh and Vipan Sharma secured top three places, while in under-18 boy’s category, Anish Sadotra, Sachin and Imran stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively.
In under-14 girls 600 mtrs, Roshni Devi, Priyanka Sharma and Renuka Devi secured top three positions respectively, whereas under-18 boys 400 mtrs, Rahul Sharma, Nagachandu and Karbal Singh clinched first three places respectively and in under-16 boys 300 mtrs, Lakshdeep, Raghav Sharma and Adhyan remained 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively.
In under-16 girls 300 mtrs, Mehak Wazir, Manasvi and Prachi Jandiyal stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively, while top three positions were won by Soni, Sanjeevni and Divya Kotwal in under-16 girls 100 mtrs and in under-20 boys 400 mtrs, Kamal Preet Singh, Mohd Shakeel and Asif Ali stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively.
