JAMMU, Jan 18: ASCC defeated Royal Hawk with low margin of seven runs, whereas Chanpora Cricket Club trounced Elite Cricket Club with 20 runs in the ongoing CL Chrangoo Memorial Cricket Tournament, being played at Country Ground Amb Gharota, here today.
In first match, ASCC won the toss and elected to bat first. Batting first ASCC made moderate score 122 runs by losing all wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Danish made 27 runs, while Asif and Nadeem contributed 19 and 13 runs respectively. From bowling side, Amir Gulzar and Raju Umar clinched four wickets each and Rayees took two wickets.
In reply, Royal Hawk failed to chase the target and bundled out at 115 runs. Shoaib, Amir and Jawar made 27, 17 and 15 runs respectively. From bowling side, Saqib, Nadeem, Asif and Irfan took two wickets each while Mehran bagged one wicket. Asif Manzoor was declared as man of the match for his excellent performance with bat and ball.
In another match, Chanpora CC won the match with 20 runs from the opponent team-Elite CC. Batting first, Chanpora made 144 runs by losing seven wickets. Salik made half century while, Adil and Feroz contributed 27 and 18 runs respectively. From bowling side, Adil Sofi and Aked took three and two wickets respectively.
In reply, Elite CC failed to chase the set target and succeed to make 124 runs on the loss of three wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Aquin Sofi made highest score of 54 runs while Ishfaq contributed 26 runs. from bowling side, Umar, Ajmal and Gowar clinched one wicket each. Salik was declared as man of the match, while Gharu and Deepak Fotedar were umpires and Tanish acted as scorer.
