SRINAGAR, July 26: Army Public School Srinagar clinched the trophy of Basketball Tournament conducted by AWES Northern Command held at Army Public School Srinagar. There were four participating schools which took part in the same which included APS Udhampur, APS Akhnoor, APS Nagrota and host team APS Srinagar.
The tournament was inaugurated by the school principal Sandeep Marhatta by bidding good luck to all the teams in acquainted with the sports In-charge Hardev Singh Cheema. However, the tournament remained incessant for 2 days as it began on July 25 with first match of boys between APS Udhampur and APS Nagroota. The winning team was APS Udhampur.
The 2nd matches were held between girls of APS Udhampur and APS Akhnoor. The winning team was APS Akhnoor. The 3rd match of boys took place APS Srinagar Vs APS Akhnoor. The winning team was APS Srinagar. The fourth match of girls took place APS Srinagar Vs APS Nagrota. The winning team was APS Srinagar.
The final matches of the tournament began on July 26, with the first match of girls between APS Akhnoor Vs APS Srinagar. The winning team is APS Srinagar. APS Srinagar defeated APS Akhnoor by 25 points. The 2nd match of boys took place between APS Udhampur Vs APS Srinagar. The winning team is APS Srinagar. APS Srinagar defeated APS Udhampur by 12 points. Both the boys as well as the girls teams of APS Srinagar won the tournament in which Seerat Fatima (IX A) and Rhea Samyal (XII) in girls team and Aditiya Rana (X A) in boys team of APS Srinagar came out to be the best players of the tournament.
