Army organizes cricket tournament

Srinagar, Nov 4: Army has organized a seven-day long cricket tournament titled ‘Shah-e-Hamdan cricket tournament’ for the youths of Tral and Awantipora in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
A defence spokesman said that the passion and cricket fever in Kashmir valley is always on a high and keeping these passions alive, the week-long cricket tournament was kick started on November 3 and finals will be played on November 10.
“Organised by local youth in collaboration with the Army, the tournament promises to be a huge draw for the locals. And if the first match between the teams of Tsaralingund and Awantipora which showcased spectacular talent, is any index, then the event will not only give some quality sporting skills to the speculators  but also a lesson or two  on sportsman spirit, camaraderie and brotherhood,” the spokesman added.
