Army organises Debate competition

DODA, Sept 4: To provide a platform for the college / school students to showcase their talent and to enhance their self-confidence, Army organised a Debate Competition for students of Doda District at University Campus, Bhaderwah, here.
The topic of Debate was ‘Effectiveness of Panchayat Raj System on Overall Governance”. The aim of the debate competition was to develop the quality of public speaking and power of expression.
The competition was to encourage participants to express their own opinion in frank and candid manner. A total of 26 students from 8 schools / colleges participated in the competition.
A total of five Principals, 25 Professors / Teachers, three Army Officers and 225 students from Bhaderwah and nearby schools/colleges witnessed the Debate Competition.
The winners were awarded on the occasion. Mohd Issrar of Atkhar Public School, Bhaderwah, Prajual of KV, Bhaderwah and Affan Riaz of Model Secular School, Bhaderwah secured first, second and third position in the junior category of boys and Shagun Manhas of Atkhar Public School, Bhaderwah, Shriya Manhas of KV, Bhaderwah and Sakshi Thakur of Blue-Ribbon School, Bhaderwah secured first, second and third position in the junior category of girls.
The competition was inaugurated by Professor (Dr) Jaswant Singh, Principal, GDC, Doda in the presence of Army Officers, Principals, Teachers and other school staff.
Chief guest appreciated the efforts of the Indian Army for organising the event.
