Armed Police organizes Volleyball Tournament

RAMBAN, May19: IRP 9th Battalion of Jammu & Kashmir Armed Police at Ramban, organized a Volleyball Tournament at Tehsil Headquarters Banihal.
The tournament was organized in the Higher Secondary School Banihal and was witnessed by a large number of members of civil society, youth and students.
Kewal Krishan Kanethia, Principal Higher Secondary School, Banihal was the Chief Guest on the occasion and Kuldeep Kumar Raina ZEO Banihal was the guest of honour.
The touranament was organised under civic action programme (CAP) 2016-17, under the supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police Abrar Chowdhary, Commandant IRP 9th Battalion.
On the occasion, Commandant IRP 9th Bn alongwith Chief Guest distributed the sports uniforms and the sports kits among the players.
The tounament began with the interaction of the players, their couches and the officers of sports department with Commandant IRP 9th Bn and the Chief Guest.
SSP Abrar Chowdhary, Commandant IRP 9th Battalion while speaking on the occasion congratulated the players and other youth and appreciated them for the interest they show in sports activities despite meagre facilities available to them. He asserted that police is always keen to move hand in hand with the citizens of the state in all spheres and activities.
He said that police is quite keen to develop the sports talent of the youth of the state.
“Besides the health dividends and physical fitness sports and games are the appropriate sources of inculcating discipline and facilitation of cultural exchange among the youth of various areas”, said Mr. Chowdhary. He advised the participants to uphold and expand the spirit of sportsmanship.
He appealed the youth to always prefer peace and communal harmony over the divisive tactics of the antinational and antisocial elements in order to defeat the designs of ANEs which have led to destruction only in the state.
In the end the Commandant IRP 9th Bn alongwith Chief Guest distributed trophies and certificates of participation among the winner and runner up team members.
