JAMMU, Aug 2: Squash Individual Championship in the men’s category was held at the ultra modern Squash courts of KC Sports Club.
Sixteen members participated in the tournament with immense zeal and healthy competitive spirit.
At the end of the preliminary fixtures, Shivang Gupta and Nishant faced each other in the first semi-final. Shivang turned out stronger of the two and beat Nishant with a score of 10-7 and 10-6.
The second semi-final was played between Arjun Chowdhary and Gourav Mahajan in which Arjun emerged as winner with a score of 10-8 and 10-6 against his opponent.
The final match between Arjun Chowdhary and Shivang Gupta turned out to be a cliff hanger and eventually Arjun Chowdhary carried the day with a slim margin in all the 3 sets with the score of 10-9, 8-10 and 10-8.
Arjun Chowdhary emerged champion of the tournament followed by Shivang Gupta in the second place, while Gourav Mahajan and Nishant Chowdhary stood third and fourth respectively.
