Archers of Shrine Board’s Sports Complex win three Gold, one Bronze

JAMMU, Jan 22: Archers of Shrine Board’s Sports Complex excelled in 65th National School Games Federation of India Archery Championship by winning three Gold and one Bronze, held at Ranchi from January 18 to 21.
Seven archers of the Sports Complex, Katra were part of the J&K team wherein Sunaina Devi won two Gold in the first 50 metre compound event as well as in the second 50 metre compound event while one Gold for overall best in the said event.
She scored 690 points out of 720. Similarly, Eklavya Ahlawat, another regular trainee of the Sports Complex Archery Coaching Centre, Katra clinched bronze medal in the team event by scoring 662 points out of 720 in the compound event.
The archers who participated in the championship included Sunaina Devi, Eklavya Ahlawat, Ankush Thapa, Pankaj, Divyansh, Vishal and Sangharsh. The performances of all of them were appreciable.
Dr Ashok Bhan, member Shrine Board and Chairman of Governing Council of Shrine Board’s Sports Complex and Ramesh Kumar, Chief Executive Officer, SMVDSB have complimented all the Archers and coach, for their excellent performance.
Ashok Kumar, Director Sports, SMVDSB said that Rakesh Kumar, a Para archer of the Shrine Board’s Sports Complex and a resident of Katra, has already qualified for Tokyo Para Olympics 2020 while four other archers of the Sports Complex recently participated in the 3rd edition of the Khelo India Youth Games 2020 at Guwahati.
