APS Udhampur lifts Northern Command tourney

Udhampur, May 12: After defeating APS Rakhmuthi in a nail biting match APS Udhampur took on arch rivals APS Akhnoor in the finals of the Northern Command Inter APS T-20 Cricket tournament.
After winning the toss APS Akhnoor decided to bat first and were bowled out for paltry 87 runs in 20 overs.  Soumya took 4 wickets for 7 runs and Vikas took 2 wickets for 2 runs.  Chasing the modest target APS Udhampur got off to a flying start with opener Nakshatra scoring 31 runs before getting out.  Rritik who was adjudged player of the tournament scored 18 not out and captain Shamsher scored the winning runs for his team.  The team seemed ecstatic after lifting the cup.  The Principal of the school, Sanjeev Kumar congratulated the winning team and also the team Manager and Coach, Gurmeet Singh.  Addressing the teams, the chief guest Col SK Sharma, CO, 117 Infantry Bn (TA) The Guards, also congratulated all the participating teams and displaying sportsman during the tournament.
