APS Ratnuchak among top 100 Innovators at Youth Ideathon 2024

JAMMU, Oct 11: Army Public School (APS) Ratnuchak has achieved a remarkable milestone by securing a place among the top 100 schools in the Youth Ideathon 2024, India’s largest school-level competition focusing on innovation and entrepreneurship. Organized by ThinkStartup, MEPSC and CBSE, the event saw participation from over 1.8 lakh young innovators from more than 5,000 schools across the country.
APS Ratnuchak’s students from classes 4 to 12 submitted over 600 innovative ideas. Their entries showcased their creativity and ability to solve real-world problems. Out of 53,000 shortlisted ideas, five teams from the school advanced to the top 1500, and two teams progressed further to the top 500, winning cash prizes to help develop their prototypes.
The team PetroPolyFixers emerged as one of the top 100 teams with their innovative product, Aquabarrier – Seal the Roof, Stop the Leak, a creative solution aimed at addressing roof leakage problems. As a result, the team was invited to present their product at IIT Delhi.
Major General PR Murali (Retd), Managing Director of AWES, visited the team’s stall and praised their groundbreaking idea. Other notable dignitaries, including the founders of ThinkStartup, MEPSC, ESRI, SIDBI, and CBSE, also engaged with the team during the presentation.
The school received the Top 100 Certificate of Achievement, while team members Vihaan Sharma, Mokshi Sharma and Gurjeet Singh were awarded individual Top 100 India Certificates of Achievement and medals. Their mentor, Vishal Sharma was recognized with the top 100 Mentor Award. Principal Sonal Sharma was honoured with the School Innovation Award for her leadership in fostering a culture of innovation. This achievement underscores APS Ratnuchak’s commitment to nurturing young entrepreneurs and innovators.
