KARGIL, Mar 3: The final match of Traditional Archery Tournament organized by Sports and Social Welfare Association Sodh, Kargil was played between Apati-A and Apati-B at Sports Stadium Chutumail here today.
Apati-B drubbed the rival team by 1 point to lift the presitigious Trophy.
Deputy Commissioner/Chief Executive Officer LAHDC Kargil, Mohammad Sadiq Sheikh was the chief guest on the occasion, while Commanding Officer, Col Rakesh Kumar was guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Sheikh while stressing for promoting Archery said that Archery is a traditional sport and a part of Ladakhi culture. He asked the youth to take part in this sport and bring laurel to society by excelling at the National and the International Level.
The guest of honour, Commanding Officer, Col Rakesh Kumar also spoke on the occasion.
35 teams drawn from various parts of Elaqae Sodh took part in the tournament.
Earlier, Ajaz Hussain Munshi on behalf of people of Sodh presented a memorandum to the chief guest.
Later prizes were distributed among the winners and runners-up teams, alongwith the team that claimed third spot.
Haji Ahmad Khan presented vote of thanks.
