Ansari sets deadline to complete gap analysis of proposed sports policy

SRINAGAR, Aug 31: Minister for Information Technology, Technical Education and Youth Services and Sports, Moulvi Imran Raza Ansari today directed officials to complete the gap analysis of proposed sports policy within a month.
The Minister said this while chairing a meeting to discuss the adoption of the proposed sports policy. Earlier he directed officials to hire specialist consultants to suggest measures for improving the sports apparatus in the State.
During the meeting, Minister directed officials to conduct a gap analysis of the sports policy within a month and prepare a comprehensive list next Assembly session.
Moreover, the Minister reiterated that Government is committed to provide all possible sports facilities to young aspirants in general and sportsperson in particular.
Earlier, EXCELSIOR in its August 4, 2017 edition had reported that ‘J&K has no Sports Policy’ and around five years have gone since the preliminary exercise for the formulation of J&K Sports Policy has been initiated, yet there are no concrete results despite all these years.
