JAMMU, Apr 26: The Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Office, Jammu will begin its annual calendar of activities with Under-14 and Under-17 boys and girls tournaments in the disciplines of badminton, table tennis, chess and carrom from May 1, 2013 at various venues, here.
“The badminton competition will be held at Indoor Hall, Police Line Jammu from May 1, with the boys event on May 1 and 2 and the girls event on May 3 and May 4, 2013, the competitions in chess, carom and table tennis will be held at Indoor Complex MA Stadium from the same dates,” informed Tirath Ram, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Jammu.
Meanwhile, to pick the Jammu district teams, the cricket trials for Under-14 and Under-16 boys will be held at GGM Science College, Jammu from May 6 to May 9, 2013, with the trials for Under-14 boys on May 6 and 7 and for under-16 boys on May 8 and 9.
The Department has constituted various committees for smooth and successful conduct of the tournament.
