JAMMU, Nov 25: Chinar Primary School (CPS)-the junior wing of Sainik School Nagrota celebrated its Annual Day at the School Auditorium, here today.
Brig Biju Jacob, VSM Brig OS, HQ 16 Corps presided over the function and inaugurated the cultural programme by lighting the traditional lamp. Eminent educationist, Ruchi Chabra, Principal DPS Jammu graced the occasion as the guest of honour.
The programme began with an action song “Panch Tatva ” depicting the significance of five elements as portrayed in the ‘Mahabharat’. Parveenakhtar Desai, Headmistress CPS presented the School Annual report. She vividly brought out the endeavours made by the School in imparting life skills to the students in line with the vision of NEP-2020 for laying strong value-based foundation for children in their formative years of life at School.
The mega cultural program presented by the students including ‘Caterpillar dance, a hilarious English skit titled “Chocolate cake”, Fashion Sshow under the theme “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat”, a soothing prayer “Guiding light” by the English Choir, Zumba Dance and the enchanting Spanish Flamenco dance and as an icing on the cake the final theme dance “Five Elements”.
The chief guest gave away prizes to the winners of various competitions conducted during the current academic session and trophies to winning houses. Nehru House won the overall championship trophy for the session 2022-23.
Teacher in-charges Renu, Sampati, Soni and house appointments master Anirudh and master AdarshTikoo received the coveted trophy.
Capt (IN) AK Desai, Principal Sainik School Nagrota and Chairman Chinar Primary School presented mementoes to the chief guest and lauded the efforts of the School in grooming the children in the right direction.
The chief guest emphasized on the significant role of teachers, parents and the society in developing the all round personality of children, while the guest honour applauded efforts of the School.
