Amphalla Club lifts titles of U/19 Netball C’ship

JAMMU, Feb 7: Amphalla Club lifted title trophy of Under-19 Jammu District Netball Championship by outplaying Old City Club by 30-27 points, organised by the District Jammu Netball Association under the aegis of Netball Association of Jammu and Kashmir at Indoor Hall, Bhagwati Nagar, here today.
In under-19 boys section, 3rd position went to Rehari Club. Similarly, in girls under-19 category, Gandhi Nagar Club trounced Shastri Nagar Club by 15-12 points in a close contest.
In senior men, Bantalab Club defeated R S Pura Club in the final to secure gold, whereas 3rd position went to Old City Club.
In under-17 boys title went to Old City Club, who beat Amphalla Club in the final and 3rd place was secured by Rehari Club. Similarly, in under-17 girls category, Old Club trounced Amphalla Club in the final.
Administrative Secretary Sports and Tourism and Culture, Sarmad Hafiz was the chief guest, who gave away the title trophies and medals to winners and runner-up teams.
He encouraged the participants for being committed to the game and working hard for the title trophies.
Earlier, General Secretary of the Association, Rajeev welcomed the chief guest and other distinguished gathering. He also briefed the guests about the two-day event.
Editor Young Bites, Vijay Gupta; Executive Officer (Football) of the J&K Sports Council, Majid Yusuf and member JKOA, Tarsem Sharma and Rakesh Sharma senior member of NAJK were guests of honour. Senior Judo coach of JKSC, Vikas Dogra was also present.
The technical penal was led by International referee and International player, Akash Batra. The penal comprised Amit Sharma, Rahi Verma, Rohan Verma, Nishant Khajuria, Akshwan Thappa, Aniket Singh, Tushar Gupta, Aryan Gupta, Tushar Arora, Vageesh, Aditya and Siddharth Gupta.
