Aman, Sawan shine at Tata Mumbai Ultra Marathon

JAMMU, Feb 23: Iron Tribe athletes Aman Gupta and Sawan Nagpal delivered a commendable performance at the prestigious Tata Mumbai Ultra Marathon held in Lonavala, successfully completing the challenging 50-km race in less than five hours.
Competing against nearly 1,800 participants, both athletes secured positions among the top 70 finishers, marking a significant achievement in their endurance sports journey. Seasoned ultra runners and accomplished Ironman finishers, Aman and Sawan underwent months of rigorous training beginning in September 2025 to prepare for the demanding event.
The Tata Mumbai Ultra is known for its tough course featuring the undulating slopes of the Sahyadri ranges. The race tested runners with steep climbs and descents while offering scenic views of Bhushi Dam, INS Shivaji, Lion’s Point, Shivling Point, Monkey Point, Peth Shahapur Fort and Morgiri Fort. The route also includes stretches at an elevation of around 800 metres above sea level, adding to the physical challenge.
The event carries historic significance, being associated with the Tata Group’s legacy in the region. Expressing satisfaction over their performance, the athletes highlighted discipline, perseverance and structured training as key factors behind their success.
